Hub Volunteers
The Hub is successful because of the time given and the effort made by our team of volunteers. Without their help there simply would be no Hub.
Hub volunteers were recognised by the Parish Council at their Annual Assembly in May when Joyce Butler and Patricia Marston were awarded certificates for providing services for older people and for developing a community service. It was great to receive Parish Council support in this way.

A band of local people lend a hand at the Hub on Friday mornings arriving at about 9.30 to 10 o'clock to set up the computers, books, meet and greet table, the refreshments table and hang the outside banner and street sign. There is a team of cake makers who supply us with delicious home made cakes each week. Norma Bendle, a Hub Committee Member, keeps the Volunteers Diary and ensures that there is someone available each Friday to undertake the various tasks which Hub visitors really appreciate. If you would like to join our happy band of helpers please do come and talk to us on a Friday morning or go to the Contacts page on this website for other ways to get in touch. We would love to hear from you.
To ensure that the Hub is properly managed there is a Hub Committee, again all local people, who give their time freely. The Committee meet monthly and work to an Agenda and produce Minutes. Committee Members have specific responsibilities, Norma manages the Helpers Rota Diary, Marion keeps track of the finances, Trish deals with administration and minutes, Geoff offers his 'handy man' skills, Irene, Ruth and Thelma help with publicity, Ruth oversees the books, Sharron and Tim provide IT advice and support and Patricia deals with Hub development plans. A Hub Constituion was agreed at the AGM . (See Legal Information page)
